Installation instructions



To install your thawte Trusted Site Seal on your website, please follow these easy instructions:
  1. To download the thawte Trusted Site Seal, please click here. Enter your Order Number of the Certificate you would like the thawte Trusted Site Seal for and click ‘Next’.
  2. If you do not know the Order Number of the Certificate, please refer to our thawte Knowledge Base solution: http://search.thawte.com/thawte/solution.jsp?id=vs1513
  3. You may or may not be prompted for the Status Page Password, depending on whether one was set during the original enrollment process.
  4. If you have set a password:
  5. Enter the Status Page Password and click "Next"
  6. If you do not know the Status Page Password or have forgotten it, please refer to our thawte Knowledge Base solution: http://search.thawte.com/thawte/solution.jsp?id=vs1514
  7. If you have not previously set a password, simply click on “Next”
  8. Enter the directory where you wish to display the thawte Trusted Site Seal, under ‘add another site seal location’ > ‘directory/file’.
  9. Select the preferred size of the thawte Trusted Site Seal from the ‘seal option’ drop down list.
  10. Set the permission for the ‘directory/file’ location you just added to ‘allow’.
  11. If you wish to display the thawte Trusted Site Seal throughout the entire website, you may leave the forward slash (/), that is set by default, within the ‘directory/file’ box and make sure that the permission selector is set to ‘allow’.
  12. Note: If the permission selector is set to 'deny' the thawte Trusted Site Seal will not display correctly on your website and it will display as “Invalid Certificate”.
  13. Choose your preferred language of your thawte Trusted Site Seal, and then click on ‘done’.
  14. On the next page you will be able to view a ‘live’ sample of the selected thawte Trusted Site Seal, as it would appear on your site.
  15. You will find the JavaScript and link that is specific to your Certificates’ Status, which you will need to insert into your web page by copying and pasting it into your html/asp/php etc. pages.
Important Information:

Please note that the JavaScript Code for the thawte Trusted Site Seal may be placed within a table, as long as it is being referenced correctly. JavaScript is extremely sensitive to line breaks and spaces, so please be sure to copy the JavaScript Code exactly as it is displayed in the thawte Trusted Site Seal Wizard.

Please note:
If you are displaying the thawte Trusted Site Seal on your website, you will need to reconfigure the thawte Trusted Site Seal with your new Order Number as soon as you have completed the renewal or reissue process and have confirmed that the certificate has been issued. If the thawte Trusted Site Seal is not reconfigured using the renewed or reissued certificate's Order Number, it will display as "Invalid Certificate" as soon as the original certificate expires or is revoked.
